BUILD & TRAIN A NEURAL NETWORK | Grades 9-Adult | FREE

NEW LOCATION: The Maxx, 94 Railroad St., New Milford

This workshop will introduce neural networks and their place in AI. We will build a small neural net and train it for some simple task, such as handwritten digit identification. Google Colab will be used which is available from any Google email account. Personal Google accounts are preferred but temporary accounts will be provided at the workshop as needed. Additional resources will be provided for further exploration.

Requirements to Attend: This workshop will use Python in an interactive notebook but experience with any text-based coding language such as Java, Javascript or Python, and basic coding knowledge will be adequate. Feel free to bring a personal laptop, but computers will be provided as necessary. No paid software will be required to participate.

Workshop Leader: Thomas King, long-time Robotics And Beyond student, mentor and admin assistant. Independent Technology Consultant and Graduate of the University of Massachusetts Amherst (B.S. Computer Science, 2022).
